Nicky is an experienced Architectural Technician with a 30-year career in property development, architectural planning, and project management across Southern Africa and Namibia. In 2016, she moved to the UK with her husband, Kent, and their two children, Abi and John, settling in a rural village between Cambridge and Ely.
Raised in a Christian home by a single mother dedicated to Christian education for underprivileged children in post-apartheid South Africa, Nicky developed a strong commitment to community support. She and her family remain actively connected to a Christian charity in South Africa that provides care for vulnerable and orphaned children.
Before joining Pilgrims' Friend Society, Nicky obtained HSC certification and in 2019, founded a support group aimed at tackling loneliness among older people in her community. She continues to run this group in her spare time with the help of her local church.
